Voter ID rules are different based on how you decide to cast your ballot.
Most voters do not need to include ID when voting remotely in Hawaii.
Every registered voter in Hawaii automatically gets a mail ballot sent to the address in their voter registration. You don’t have to ask for it, and you don’t need a special reason to vote by mail.
Voters with disabilities can request to vote using an electronic ballot. If qualified to vote electronically, you will be able to mark and return your ballot online.
In Hawaii, you don’t have to show ID to vote in person.
It’s a good idea to bring ID to make check-in faster, but if you forget, don’t worry. They can still make sure you’re eligible to vote without it.

If you don’t bring ID, they might ask you to say your name, address, and birthdate. If this matches their records, you can vote normally. Or, another registered voter can vouch for you and confirm your identity.
